where to start?

So I own the comics already but haven't gotten around to reading them yet, and now the movie is available, so this might be the right place to ask: which first? Do I read the comics and then watch the movie, or the other way around? Opinions are appreciated. :D

I read the first volume of the comics, then saw the movie, then read the second volume. I think having a little more backstory from the first volume of the comics primed me to jump right into the movie and connect with the characters, and it also let me catch some Easter eggs. I'd personally recommend saving the second volume until after the movie, as it more or less lines up as a sequel.

I read the comics well before the film, so I'm a little biased, but I think that's the way to go. The adaptation is quite faithful, but there are some changes, and I found knowing much of the story but not being sure where the divergences would come very enjoyable. That said, the art style in the comics is not for everyone and there is more backstory for everyone in the comics, so if you watch the film first you can do a deeper dive with the comics after.

I do strongly recommend, if you read the comics first, not reading the second volume until you watch the film.

Yeah, I really like the writing, but I'm finding the art quite hard to follow. It's really dynamic, though, almost movie-like just on the page!

I watched the movie before I read the comics, but I think either way would work. Although from what I know of volume 2 (I haven't gotten to it yet), I would suggest reading that one after the movie.
