the futility of (trying to live while) drowning by

Primarily gen, but references Andy/Quynh, set during the period in the flashbacks when Quynh is in an iron coffin and underwater. This is not a pretty story, and it is canon-compliant, so it contains (and I quote the author), "primarily pain and rage." Which comes through. Oh, Quynh.
POV is second person, if that isn't your cup of tea. If you're iffy, I recommend trying it, it's only ~1200 words and I find it's a good technique in a short story when a character is internalizing their feelings that deeply.
Quynh and her story hasn't been told much yet, of course, because the primarily present-day nature of the film was a vehicle for the introduction of Nile to the world of immortals, and Andy's reintroduction to the world of the living, metaphorically speaking, not to mention the rest of of the plot. The glimpses we have of Quynh and her history with Andy, Nicky, and Joe are intriguing and beg for exploration.
ALC_Punk makes a good start of what Quynh's mindset is at the latter days of the flashbacks.

Date: 2020-07-19 03:45 pm (UTC)To be fair to Andy, she's probably been in a crushing depression since having been burned at the stake during the Renaissance - and having lost Quynh, who was a touchstone for her. Booker was awesome, but Booker was so depressed that he and Andy reinforced each other's depression.
Oh God, I ship Andy/Quynh as a tragic and angry and romantically near-eternal ship so hard. I am super interested in the two of them trying to kill each other (or Quynh trying to kill Andy and failing and Andy trying to save basically everyone from Quynh's anger) and them falling into bed together a lot.
