The intro post is now done. First draft, at least. There's also posts for beta requests, and community feedback/questions.

The plan now is to try and kickstart a commentfic meme towards next weekend. Best get those prompts ready ;)

The idea for this community was to have a proper fandom hub for a specific fandom again. We're all pretty scattered about these days, so the siren call of a well-organized and tagged place has been getting stronger and stronger. What better fandom to seize the day with then one containing immortal found families, tons of representation and pretty faces, competency porn and teamwork, plus literally centuries of blank space to play around in. The Old Guard is currently sitting pretty as one of Netflix's 10 most popular original films ever, and is tracking to reach 72 million households in its first four weeks. With Rucka having a trilogy in mind, I doubt this is the last we'll hear of our immortals.

Feel free to chime in with discussion posts, recs, stuff you've made, link meta you've seen elsewhere, whatever strikes your fancy.

In case anyone hasn't seen it, I really liked this brief interview with Greg Rucka, in which he says his intention was definintely to bury the "Bury your gays' trope:

It was also important to me, very early on, to make it clear that there weren’t ‘conditions’ that had to be fulfilled to have this immortality. You didn’t have to be a straight white guy. That was basically it. The team needed to represent a breadth and depth of diversity. I just didn’t want anybody coming away from the audience, or coming away from the book, going "Ah, so it’s a reward for this kind of behavior.”
