Hey all, and welcome to the very first comment ficathon at the_old_guard! How better to celebrate that the posts have already crawled off the first page, and we're sitting at exactly 69 members (nice).

Prompts will be accepted from now through Friday 31st, and fills for another two weeks after that.

It is highly embarrassing, but the sound I made when the notification this had been filled popped up was... loud.

This is EXCELLENt and perfect, and exactly what I was hoping for. I am happy-dancing, here. =D

She might die again before they get where they're going. That's fine. Worse things have happened. I love this, it's a gut-punch of practicality in amongst the confusing THERE ARE MERMAIDS, fantasy-ness.
